Description:
Now accepted into Science Citation IndexJournal of Building Physics is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes advanced research and state of the art papers to promote the understanding and advancement of all the areas of non-structural performance of buildings and their environments, and particularly in heat, air and moisture transfer, and to establish the foundation for developing scientifically-based design methods that drive innovation, improve sustainability, and ensure the reliability of buildings.Buildings have enormous impact on the global environment, on the use of renewable and non-renewable resources, on CO2 emissions and on the quality of life. The performance of the building envelope and environments is at the core of the journal, through strong interest in building physics, building technology, building materials, energy saving and decarbonation, climate change, indoor and outdoor environment , and health and comfort of the occupants. The Journal contributes to the optimization of building design and the facilitation of efficient and sustainable urban planning. Given its scope, this journal is a main vector to convey advances in building physics at all scales and to propose new avenues and solutions for the future, especially in view of the challenges related to climate changes. The Journal of Building Physics has followed the evolution of its field throughout its history. The first issue, dating back to July 1977, was under the title Journal of Thermal Insulation. In July 1992, the journal, reflecting scientific developments and the need to consider thermal insulation with the context of its use, took the title of Journal of Thermal Insulation and Building Envelopes and, in 1998, it became the Journal of Thermal Insulation and Building Science. In 2005 , the title changed to what it is now, the Journal of Building Physics and the scope of the journal was broadened in response to developments of the field. The vision of Journal of Building Physics is to facilitate the integration and implementation of a scientific approach in building physics with the various domains of building performance. This journal is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).All issues of the Journal of Building Physics are available to browse online.Submit your manuscript today at https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jen.
