Description:
Research and Politics (RAP) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal on research in political science and related fields through open access publication of the very best cutting-edge research and policy analysis. The journal provides a venue for scholars to communicate, rapidly and succinctly, important new insights to the broadest possible audiences while maintaining the highest standards of quality control. Please see the Aims and Scopes tab for further information. This journal is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).Why publish in Research and Politics?Publication in a journal that is indexed in Clarivate Analytics’ SSCIRigorous peer review of your scholarly workRapid decision-making and an online-only continuous publication model ensure that research can be shared quicklyOpen access format ensuring wide dissemination of highly-downloaded contentOpen access article processing charge (APC) informationSince its launch in 2014, Research & Politics (R&P) has operated as a successful Open Access journal. In 2021, we are proud to announce that the journal receives its first Impact Factor (IF) in the Journal of Citation Reports (JCR), following the inclusion of Research & Politics in the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI).For the first two years, SAGE subsidized and waived Article Processing Charges (APCs) and from 2016 until July 2020, the Carnegie Corporation of New York generously sponsored open access APCs for Research & Politics authors. SAGE has continued to finance the journal with no APC charge to authors since July 2020, but the journal needs to be financially viable in the long term. The current APC for this journal is $1250 and $400 for Research Notes. For authors who reside in countries described by the Research4Life program waivers are standard and will be automatically applied. Where an author is eligible for an Open Access Agreement with SAGE, discounted rates will also be automatically applied. Not having an APC would mean that R&P has no access to funding from transformative agreements.Editors will have full discretion to waive the APC for any articles that do not have funding. The journal remains committed to rigorous peer-review, fast turnaround time and publishing research of the highest quality. The ability to pay an APC will not feature in the editorial decision-making process.SAGE currently publishes more than 190 Gold Open Access journals. All articles are rigorously peer-reviewed retaining the quality hallmarks of the academic publishing process that authors would experience in publishing in any traditional SAGE journal. Most SAGE pure gold open access journals are supported by the payment of an article processing charge by the author, institution or research funder of the accepted manuscript.Submission informationSubmit your manuscript today at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/rapPlease see the Submission Guidelines tab for more information on how to submit your article to this journal.ContactPlease direct any inquiries to rap@fgga.leidenuniv.nl.Foundation Research and PoliticsFoundation Research and Politics (RSIN 853035118) aims to support research in the area of political science and public administration by participating in the publication of scientific work.
