The Journal aims to promote sharing of technical knowledge, ideas and experience between engineers and researchers working in the railway field. “The IMechE was founded by George Stephenson in 1847 and Part F of the Proceedings (the Journal of Rail and Rapid Transit) aims to continue the strong tradition of informing railway engineers of innovative concepts and advances in knowledge as well as examples of practical developments and applications.
